Author Seroquel question - input?

Hi everyone, I just found this newsgroup. I'm bipolar type II diagnosed
4yrs ago. Meds: Depakote 750mg + Celexa 10mg + Seroquel 200. Once a
day, everything taken at bedtime. Good combo, been on it for a while.
However... I'd sortov need more seroquel in my diet cause I'm getting
some mild psychotic symptoms coming back (presently on sick leave from
work).

Seroquel has a short half life (like 7-8 hours) so the pharm books
recommend taking it two or three times a day. Problem is that it is
XXXXin sedating, everybody knows. This is why I take it all at bedtime
and hell, I sleep well. So here is my question - did any of you ever
get good antipsychotic effect all day long from taking seroquel only
ONCE a day at bedtime??? I'm gonna ask my doc to up my dose from 200 to
300, but he's maybe gonna suggest taking some during the day and I don't
feel like waking up having to swallow a 100mg of that stuff with my
coffee to start my day. Any input? I don't want to change to another
antipsychotic cause seroquel is the only one my body tolerates really
well.

Thanx

PBF

Perhaps you could try a t.i.d. dosing, 50/50/200? The monograph that I just read
gave a terminal half-life of six hours, so you might achieve the most stable blood
concentration during the day, and the least sedating, with such a dose schedule.

Really, if you're on sick leave due to these symptoms, you're going to have to give
something the old "college try".
