I cant help it Im a charm school dropout
|

| Ive been accused of being a "charm school dropout" both in real life
and online. I admit to it. I cant help it. Depressed its even worse.
When youre a charm school dropout, you are gruff and overly direct. Im
guilty as charged.
Ive been accused of being "rude, cold, pushy" and "northern" by my
psychiatrist. And others. My best friend who was a cop told me most of
my interpersonal problems stemmed from the fact I am a Northerner
living in the south and southerners dont care for "yankees." So Im not
southern baptist, Im catholic and I dont like NASCAR. I dont like
basketball or golf and all the other redneck activities people like
down here.
Here is to being a charm school dropout...

| Some people live lives so circumscribed by circumstance, ignorance, or
mental illness that there is essentially no possibility that they can
ever be more than they are. That isn't true of you. You have shown
that you have the intelligence and drive to do more, and be more, in
the future.
You're recent diagnosis and treatment for anemia seems to have done
wonders for you, and I'm very glad to hear of it. In a way, though, it
also presents you with an unusual challenge:
Now that you have the capability to do more than just survive, what
are you going to do? Your old life was miserable, but it provided you
with a definition of who you were, of what kind of person you "should"
be. Now that you can do more, I suspect your old life is going to suit
you less well over time, and the old definition of who you are is
likely to seem less and less adequate.
Part of your changing definition has to do with externalities: Your
job, your education, etc. These are relatively easy to identify, and
change. Part of it has to do with "internalities" (a word I just
invented): How you interact with people, what your values are, how you
find meaning in your life. These are harder to identify, and harder to
change.
I won't offer suggestions for new directions for you, because I have
no idea what they ought to be. And I certainly won't recommend that
you try to work them out with a therapist; while I have generally not
been a fan of therapy, I believe you are even less so. However, I do
suspect that you will find yourself wrestling with these types of
issues more and more over time.
I wish you luck in dealing with new directions. I believe that you can
be successful. My only advice would be not to let other people define
who you ought to be. Not only will they almost certainly get it wrong,
but they generally don't have your best interests at heart.

I'm southern, an atheist, and don't care for NASCAR, either. Maybe
they don't like you because you are an XXXXXXX. I know many, many
"yankees" who relocated down here. One of my best friends (who lives
in NC) is from RI. The only ones I have a problem with are the ones
who cause trouble. And that's true regardless of where they came
from. My ex-neighbor (from NY) *finally* moved out after years of
having to put up with his criminal activity. Hopefully he'll be
moving into a prison soon. Or a grave.

Basketball is "redneck"? Geez, you just don't get it, do you?
And I hope you don't go around in RL throwing the word "redneck"
around as an insult. That could explain peoples' dislike of you.

Good for you...
Maybe

Wow...you kind of sound like an XXXXXXX yourself.

yes, basketball is the favorite sport in NC, in addition to golf and
NASCAR. All are redneck sports, at least in NC they are.

Actually, I do throw around the word "redneck" as an insult in RL. I
agree it doesnt get me much kudos. Many of the southern stereotypes
(such as southerners are shitfaced stupid) are basically true I have
found.

So, I'm an XXXXXXX for wanting a CHILD MOLESTER (2nd offense) in
prison? XXXX you, idiot. Give me your address and I'll see to it he
moves in next door to you.

Yes, the NBA is just filled with white "good ole boys" from the south.
Geez, you are a dullard.

And you are a stereotype of yourself. You do realize that, don't you?
You're like someone who pisses in a public pool, then gets offended
when others do the same.

Actually, I have pissed in swimming pools before. Everybody
has...Nothing like that warm feeling in your swim trucks when you take
a big leak.

You don't have much room to talk, little boy. You admit you hurl
insults at people then wonder why people don't like you. There's a
major disconnect there somewhere.

Somehow, I kind of pictured you as the turd floating in the pool.
