Author Quit Cipralex after just 1 tablet?

I've choosen the most innaproperiate time to start taking Cipralex
(which I was prescribed yesterday). I have a huge university
assignment due in over the next week or so, so I obviously don't want
any side-effects whilst I need to try and get on with this work.

I took my first Cipralex last night, and woke this morning with
blurred vision for 5 mins, feeling ok - but as soon as I got up and
went to the bathroom I had terrible nausia, sweating and was very
feverish.. only for about 5 mins though.

Ive read about how this med can mess your sleep up for the first week
or so, add to that these side effects and its something I really cant
be dealing with for this week or two with my uni work.

So my question is, would it be ok to come off the med after just
taking 1 tablet last night (10mg) and when will the side effects go
(im hoping after 24 hours).

Cheers.

It's hard to taper down from a single table any more gently than
simply not taking any more, though I suppose you could try cutting one
in half (if they aren't extended-release formulations) and taking half
on the second day. So I would think this would be OK. You might also
want to start more gradually (smaller dose) next time, since you know
you are susceptible to side effects.

Alas, it's impossible to predict how rapidly the existing side effects
will go away. I hope, for your sake, quickly.

Escitalopram has a half life of less 24 hours so should clear from your
system quickly
