For Larry...dietary fiber

| Hey dude, sorry about not answering your question about what fiber websites
I found. I have been real busy studying for a couple final exams, as well as
trying to transition to a high fiber diet. So far I am finding I dont
especially care for a high fiber diet in many respects. However, the GI
doctor I saw who dxed me with some, ahem, mild GI condition, prescribed a
high fiber diet.
Ive been trying to read about dietary fiber for the past several weeks and
actually, have found the subject interesting. Ive never been interested in
diet at all, more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy even though my family
is real big on veggies...hell we used to raise every kind of vegetable there
is just about.
Anyway, I asked you about the subject because I perceive you as the usenet
"expert" on the "food as a drug" kind of subject, as well as OTC
supplements, herbals, vitamins, etc. You do know a lot about that kind of
stuff and thats why I asked you about it.
I found the following websites about dietary fiber and have been reading
them lately:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_fiber
http://www.eatright.org/cps/rde/xch...02_ENU_HTML.htm
This site is from Harvard is pretty good I thought:
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/fiber.html
A Mayo clinic article on fiber...again pretty good.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/fiber/NU00033
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hi...r-foods/NU00582
A WebMD article about fiber
http://www.webmd.com/content/article/113/110733.htm
I found a few other minor articles, but the above were the main ones I
found. I have learned a lot from reading the articles...for example I didnt
even know there are two different kinds of dietary fiber and one is better
for cardio health (soluble fiber) and the other is better for GI health
(insoluble fiber).
Anyway, thats what I found on the subject.
