I think AD's are being given and being taken by people who do not meet
the criteria of depression. They(AD's) probably don't work in cases
of people who do not meet the criteria of depression. These people
may be sad at the death of a loved one, be going through heroin
withdrawl(which causes some serious depression but not neccessarily a
type of depression which AD's are made to treat), they may be
depressed because of low school marks, lousy athletic performance
whatever. But it's not the same as clinical depression. AD's work
for me; along with moderate gentle excersise they are a life saver and
I will not have anyone slandering their effects. They so good baby;
so good. If you don't meet the criteria of being depressed and take
them then maybe they can cause suicidal behaviour. I do personally
know of one case of a man on Prozac who hung himself. To me this does
not mean that Prozac is bad. It didn't stop me from trying it. It
means that perhaps he shouldn't have been on an anti-depressant.
