effexor withdrawal
|
|
|
| friday was the first day off effexor. went from 75 (about 3 months) to
37.5 (a week) and now off. I get dizzy when I look to my left or my
right, but not up and down and not straight ahead.
Is there some herbal or non-addictive remedy for this annoying symptom?

| You're probably coming off too quickly--I found that I was on 37.5 mg
Effexor and also 40 mg Strattera for about 3 months, before going to the
*regular* Effexor pills--37.5 mg, and then halved, for close to a month,
before going off entirely. At some point there I also went off the
Strattera--perhaps when I went off the Effexor XR. For whatever reason it's
necessary to taper off Effexor XR much more slowly than you would think
necessary. I did my taper under Pdoc supervision, and I had few if no side
effects.
I wasn put on the Strattera because the 37.5 mg Effexor XR wasn't working on
its own--and the combination worked for me, as I continued the taper.
Hope this helps--

| The herbal remedy is to do it slowly. :-) Efexor is reknown for its bad
withdrawal syndrome.
I tried to reduce my Trazadone recently and gave up cos I felt so
positively crap. I might take alot but I'm more stable on what I am on.
