"jake" AKA bob whelan of the UK constantly bombards this NG with rabied
anti-psychiatry propaganda. It is of such intensity, obsessiveness and
conviction that you can read his stuff and realize his thoughts are totally
entrenched on this subject. The problem is...these ideas of his are mostly
false. They are delusions. Its simply not true that SSRIs routinely cause
suicide, homicide or are entirely placebo effect. Its simply not true that
severe mental illness is not biologically based. Its simply not true that the
entire psychiatric medication industry is about nothing but getting everybody
under the sun medicated.

But these are all things "jake" truly believes and wants others to believe.
These thoughts and ideas of his are "points of reference" for him and his
anti-psychiatry supporters. By that, a point of reference is a specific idea or
set of ideas that jake holds and clings to...believes in...but is false and
untrue.

This is classic psychosis. jake has a point of reference and this leads him to
post rabied anti-psychiatry propaganda on ASDM, over and over and over again.

Unfortunately, the only way for jake to loosen the restraints on his "point of
reference" is a certain class of medications known as neuroleptics. These
medications could free his thinking up so that he is not so focused and
obsessed on these false beliefs he has developed...these "points of reference."
But the other problem is that jake wont voluntarily take neuroleptics, so the
only possible option is forced neuroleptics. He must be made to take these
drugs until the drugs kick in and thru a combination of dopamine blockade and
intensive therapy, he can be made to see that his thinking is entirely warped
and skewed. With forced medication, there is hope.

Without forced medication, there is no hope for jake and others like him...only
endless psychosis and mania. Endless "points of reference" thoughts and ideas
which leave him stuck, like in quicksand, the harder he fights the deeper in it
he gets. The only way out is forced neuroleptics and/or a combination of ECT.

Very sad.

However it is true that SSRI's do cause these very serious side effects, and
recent actions by regulatory bodies in Europe and the US have been required
to protect the public.

There is no test, nor any proof of this opinion.

Yet they spend twice as much on marketing then they do on research.

The continuing series of posts by Eric advocating severe measures against
people he disagrees with speaks more to who eric is and what values he hold
rather then to any issues with those he bashes.

I don't think that's a double negative, at least in the sense
that it would be grammatically incorrect.
