Author Shallow hypocrits
Adinl

2004-10-28, 7:09 pm

I was reading through the archives and ran across ASt posters vengeful
campaign to exact retribution against Dr. Laura for suggesting it be ok to
exclude a child with tourettes from a wedding.

How shallow and hypocritical it is for AST posters to engage in aggressive
activiities to purge and cleanse TS'ers from AST, a support group chartered
specifically for TS'ers, while the the purgers engage in vengefilled
campaigned to exact retribution against Dr. Laura for saying it be ok to
exclude from a wedding.

I truly don't understand why TS'ers believe society is under an obligation
to include TS'ers in their weddings, when these very same posters are
engaging in aggressive activities to purge and cleanse and exclude TS'ers
from their own support groups chartered for them.

This message brought to you in mourning over the recent existential dead
bodies of Nonitpic, Sara and JMM whom were run off of AST by lies and
slander, threats and a neverending stream of insults, and being treated
like pieces of shit, by persons who chose to gather on this support group
to demean, degrade, denigrate, mock, insult and ridicule the people whom
the group was chartered to support.

Bluemoon is not a pooper trooper from s.p.p. She comes from elsewhere on
the alt.support hierarchy.

I don't read her words as smugness. I read it as anger. The "S&M pain
slut" comment notwithstanding (which is the tip of the iceberg), Linda and
her ilk have been quite hurtful to bluemoon over the years.

Linda has not lost her marbles again. She has not had marbles in a long,
long time. If no one said anything, she would still do it.

I know you like none of this. I will take my share of responsibility for
creating this situation. The only one who won't is Linda.

Linda, can you please give us more info about that PAC?
I'd like to join.
Its goals are consistent with the needs of ast: to end your cyberstalking and
cyberharassing of support groups.

And this whole Nonitpic, Sara and JMM leaving thing is silly. Is Linda

It's called smoke and mirrors. It's also called Linda taking advantage of

I had chalked it off to her having some morbid interest in discussing "body
counts" and "killings" so she invents these "cyberdeaths" (maybe as a curious
"shoot yourself in the foot" way of pointing out how much of ast *she* has
killed off.)

I don't see the evidence to support this, Randall.

Bluemoon has been mentioned by Linda, ad nauseum, regardless of whether SPPers
are here or not and regardless of anything Bluemoon does to provoke (or not)
Linda.

Pablo was mentioned over and over again in Linda's rants, even when he
remained silent for quite a while.

Back in the days when Linda was ruining asa-d as she is now ruining ast, she
carried conversations to and fro between ngs, regardless of the responses here
or input from SPPers. (Historical note: for 2 or 3 years (?), asa-d was a
virtual wasteland because of Linda and her thousands of socks. When she found
more fertile ground in her quest for a virtual audience -- ast, where one
person embraced her -- she completely abandoned asa-d, and guess what? Today,
asa-d is as normally functioning as a support group on Usenet can be. The
change was almost instantaneous upon Linda's departure there.)

Here on ast, Linda targets people no matter what benign positions they may
have taken here. Of note, her recent inclusion of Lara on her hit list for
merely having a conversation, and KC for simply giving good news about her
daughter, even though neither of them has really engaged Linda.

Conclusion: Linda's mission to attack and destroy ngs has nothing to do with
whether or not SPPers post here, and it no longer seems appropriate for us to
ask them to be silent here if Linda continues to mention them, here and all
over Usenet.

It's that double standard thing again: Linda thinks there is one standard for
her and another for everyone else. If she can start living by one standard,
then I'll be willing to go back to asking the people who aren't ast regulars
to keep it out of here, but for now, it seems that Linda *is* here, and she
*does* talk about them, so they have a right to respond.

No, Linda is parroting others. She is also being overly dramatic, which is
the general tone of her posts. One person (she) becomes a "we." A
difference of opinion becomes an "act of harassment." Her bout of
indigestion became "heart attacks." She also tries to pit person against
person.

Let me use Sara as an example. Linda has suggested that Sara is not here
because "stalkers" ran her off. Presumably, Linda is referring to me. I
know that you and Sara had disagreements. Linda tried exploiting these.
Moreover, Linda seems to think I had a negative online relationship with
Sara. Quite the contrary. I don't know where Sara is, but I enjoyed
chatting with her in posts. Others might have different opinions about
this; I don't know. I found Sara to be an inspiring person based on my
interactions with her. She and I didn't agree on everything, but that
doesn't mean I don't like her as a person. Frankly I'd love for Sara to
come back (if she is indeed gone).

People make their own choices when they post/don't post, me included. For
the most part, I stand by my choices (I have a few regrets). I also take
responsibility for my choices.

Perhaps Linda has been in touch with Nonitpic, Sara, and JMM, and they have
indicated to her that they don't feel welcome on AST anymore. Maybe this is
what she is using to give herself the right to speak for them. Who knows.

If they are lurking, I would encourage them to speak for themselves instead
of allowing (a) Linda to be a mouthpiece and/or (b) themselves to be used as
puppets.

I'm glad to hear this. Frankly, things got so chaotic for a bit that I'm
not sure who all was angry at whom, and to what extent. I know that a lot
of people had questions about me when I first started posting here, and I'm
guessing some folks still do. Sara was wary of me, I think, but we seemed

And this whole Nonitpic, Sara and JMM leaving thing is silly. Is Linda
speaking for these folks? Who gave her the right to speak on their behalf?

It's called smoke and mirrors. It's also called Linda taking advantage of
an opportunity.

Sara and I were doing fine.

Me, too.

I'm glad to hear this. Frankly, things got so chaotic for a bit that I'm
not sure who all was angry at whom, and to what extent. I know that a lot
of people had questions about me when I first started posting here, and I'm
guessing some folks still do. Sara was wary of me, I think, but we seemed
to overcome it. I like her humor.

Me too to your me too. I hope she is still around. For someone who was
critical of me, I came to respect her for her "life force" and sense of
determination.

I, too, find a daily bath helpful. ;-)

As for where you are going...yep, sounds like it's your way of dealing with
it. It's a person's right to pick that special place (or those special
places). Don't know where yours is, but I hope it's like Eden.

For some reason, though, I'm thinking of "I know why the caged bird sings."

Perhaps home is where one bathes. :-)
