| Hi,
I have *always* been fit and well up until the last 3 months since I was
bitten by a tick. I have had the doxy for the 3 weeks (200mg/day). I was
worse on the doxy with bouts of confusion. I have had a western blot test
that came out negative (the blot was done 6 days after the doxy was stopped
and something like 4 weeks after the bite). The doc just doesn't believe
it's Lyme because the test is negative and the fact that the doxy was twice
the length of the normal dose. I feel it is getting worse and I don't trust
the doc here any more. Does anyone here live in the UK that has gone to a
private Lyme literate doc (preferably in the south) or at least some where I
can get a second opinion?
Thanks,
J.

britain is hardly immune. check the BBC website for reliable

additionally you do no one anygood by making uninformed and
liscentious accusations. it's irresponsible and juvenile to make
accusations of misinformation.

Found in England too. But what URL at the BBC website were you
referring to? The BBC website generally publishes nonsense about Lyme,
while the BBC TV and radio networks tend to air nothing at all.

Agree, and also pretty rich coming from a guy who compulsively posts
Lyme disinformation written by Ed McSweegan.
Lisa
ps "jwismille" , as you dont believe Lyme is a problem here, why dont
you come to the UK and inject yourself with the blood of a few of us
who think it is?

Go to bbc.com, click health, search lyme. not very informative but
there is an article from august 2003, i believe, stating the
unparalleled rise in lyme infections in the scottish highlands. but a
'fluff' piece as you alluded too.
Additionaly you wrote "pretty rich coming from a guy who compulsively
posts Lyme disinformation written by Ed McSweegan."
Is this referring to me? I am always cordial on this site and as well
try to post information that is helpful to people. I would say 70% of
the time I am asking questions not responding to anyone else.
In fact I did not even know who Ed McSweegan was until about 2 weeks
ago when I started to do more research. I read his quackwatch article
and submitted an email to the moderator telling them that they needed
to update the info on the site (i believe the article was written in
'97 and last updated in '02), make disclaimers on some of their
references and show the contrary evidence to some of the lyme theories
and studies purported there. I got not reply (woah is me).
I enjoyed that CBS piece on Mr. McSweegan when he said he got paid to
do nothing. That was great.
When researching him at the NIH site (search McSweegan) it seems he
has held so many different positions at different times. Interesting
though not conclusive of anything except that maybe he was actually
paid to do nothing. What an awesome job.
It also lists his email there if you want f**k with him. (disclaimer
: just kidding)
Are you the same Lisa that Jwismille said was in jail? Hope your not
but if so enjoy the free food.

Yeah, Scotland has a little measure of independence and they are
beginning to be a bit more open and honest about their problems. They
don't use O'Connell's FRAUDULENT lab and that's a start.
However the rest of the country is officially Lyme-less, or near
enough, because of course "our ticks are British, they know how to
conduct themselves properly and would not do such things". (Believe
me, O'Connell's explanations are less scientific than that.)

I was referring to that piece of cyber-trash who calls himself
"jwismille". Not to be confused with the "jwissmille" that he is
impersonating, who is an honest person.
If you dont compulsively post McSweegan's trash, then obviously it
can't be you.

Another possibility would be to tell them to remove it under the
Obscene Publications Act.
And I am not joking. The lies in there ARE obscene. They are an insult
to the thousands and thousands of people whose lives were destroyed by
those lies.

Not so great for the US taxpayers who fork out $100 000 a year for
that. Except that he is lying. He doenst "do nothing". He does lots of
things, like sit on this group under pseudonymns, insulting people in
the most vicious way he can, and propagating disinfo on Lyme,
organizing frame-ups of anyone who is too vocal in criticising the
Steere camp, or comes too close to the truth in exposing their
scientific fraud, or both (eg Kathleen Dickson), and engaging in
biowarfare work (see his article from the other day - I posted the
URL).

I am the same Lisa that he says I am not. He says I'm in jail because
he wishes I was, and because he wants people to believe that anyone
who speaks out against the Steere camp ends up in jail, or worse. And
Christ knows he has tried hard enough to achieve that.
