I had the same for years. It is a classic Lyme symptom.
I am still not 100% sure what the cause is but it is partially a coronary
vasospasm, and PERHAPS also Mitral Valve Prolapse.

The "huge beat" happens when the heart skips a beat and then fills totally
with blood, the next beat is more forcefully because of that.

It is not too dangerous (as I survived years of it) but very persistent and
it will worsen if you don't treat it with antibiotics (when it's Lyme). Even
when taking abx. it might take a year or more to fully disappear. Good luck,
you'll need it.

I was let to die by my cardiologist, even when my heart condition progressed
into very severe cardiomyopathy that landed me on the emergency room,
brought there by ambulance. Only very agressive interference of my employer
got me on antibiotics.

Basically the argumentation of the hospital was: "This person MUST be a
hypochondriac, since he claims to know what is the matter with his health
and we can't find anything so this look like a very severe case of
auto-suggestion". My employer said: "This guy is our most precious asset,
there never was anything wrong with him, he just suddenly got sick like a
dog and if you don't give him antibiotics we will sue your XXX off".

That saved me, and just barely. I was in bed for the following 3 months and
later could sit upright for longer periods.
It took a year before I could walk furhter than a few hundred yards without
stopping to catch my breath.
