I picked this from EuroLyme:

Someone mentioned not to take any supplements containing/made from
yeast (while you're on abx..).. is that right? Would the yeast in
those not a) be dead and b)yeast species that aren't pathogenic? I
thought only Candida albicans was a problem,- is it all yeasts in
general? And if so, should we also not eat bread, as it also
contains yeast then??
Confused.. (.. although that's quite a normal state of mind for
me.. ;)

Some answers were very worrying. People like to parrot what others have
parotted without using their brain.

The answers are: Yes, supplements from yeasts are VERY beneficial to us Lyme
patients. For example, vit. B supplements are very good for us.

The incredible idiocy of resoning: "Candida is a yeast, I have Candida,
therefore all yeast products are bad" becomes apparent when you replace it
with the equivalent:

"Man-eating tigers are mammals, I have once almost been eaten by a
man-eating tiger, dead poodles are mammals too, so dead poodles are bad".

The reason bread helps Candida to grow is because it has a high glycemic
index.

Producs made with yeasts never contain live yeasts, neither do they contain
anything relatec to Candida yeast. Only people who are allergic to yeasts in
general should refrain from yeasts. Irrational fearmongering leads to a
deterioration of the situation by denying people access to beneficial
yeast-derived products.
