Vanny told me of this group so I've added it to my group list. Thanks Vanny.
I have Crohn's, since 87/88. I started getting bad heartburn in 2000 so my
family doc put me on a ppi, Pantoloc, 40mg a day. A year later I was having
bad gas and by accident, I found ampicillin got rid of it all. I went to my
doc for a sinus infection. He gave me ampicillin and after a few days, I
noticed my bad gas was gone. I thought it was a miracle. And I never had a
sinus infection, the sub woofer in my car was giving me pains in my head
haha
2004 I was having weird hungar pangs in my stomach and weird heartburn. My
GI did a light test and all was fine from the stomach up. Increasing
Pantoloc to 80mg a day fixed my problems because Crohn's was causing
problems in my upper bowel.
My main problem is my stomach is so slow to empty. Probably because scarring
in the first part of my bowel from CD has narrowed the bowel preventing food
from moving through properly. But I wonder if the low acid in my stomach
doesn't digest my food properly causing gas. I've tried to reduce Pantoloc
to even 2 a day, 1 day, 2 a day, and eventually the heartburn comes back.
I just want to get food properly digested, with regular acid levels, and out
of my stomach on a timely manner, and I don't think thats possible.
a few weeks ago I had another light test of my stomach and upper bowel and
again, my stomach upwards checked out ok.
I also tried Digestrol but had a bad reaction. It has probiotics and I don't
get along with those critters.
