Well, I'm a skeptic as well, but some of the news programs seemed pretty
honest, not biased, and with everyone and their grandmother having a
video camera, changes in the children's behavior is often actually
documented. (grain of salt warning) At least one of the children in the
show I watched "realized" that when he ate certain foods, he would find
it hard to control his behavior and "be good". He didn't sound coached.

Hard to say, really, but I'm leaning towards believe based on my own
experiences. I'm still trying to figure out which of my symptoms are
truly reflux, and which might be food (or additive?) intolerances, or
something more annoying like gluten or carbohydrate intolerance. Not
just reflux, burping, chest pain and similar that I've reported before,
but really horrific gas - gurgly, flatulant gas and terrific bloating
(at least one, sometimes two belt holes) shortly after eating, skin
issues, excessive hiccups, fatigue...

With all my moving about each Dr. starts from scratch so not much is
ever accomplished, and I continue with undiagnosed problems.

The chest pains that put me in the emergency room and eventually got me
treated for reflux were triggered by one piece of a name brand precooked
grilled chicken strip. I don't think I've ever seen chicken as a reflux
trigger. OTOH, chocolate doesn't seem to bother me, and tomato doesn't
seem to be a big problem for me either, most of the time. Caffeine and
alcohol though, are definitely triggers.

I'm becoming more sure that additives may be triggers. I already know
I'm sensitive to aspartame (RLS) and monosodium glutamate (bad
headaches). If I manage to figure out for sure, I'll post here of course.

I'm pretty sure most of these symptoms would stop if I just quit eating
long enough ;-)

I'll probably eventually have to look into the Stretta, but I'd rather
wait, if I can, until I've stopped living overseas.
