Well, the first thing to be clear about is that we don't know that you've
had a vagal nerve injury.

However, if the vagus nerve is indeed injured, its recovery depends on HOW
it was injured. It's either a stretch injury, or it's been cut. In the
former case, waiting it out for likely a few months should resolve the
symptoms. In the latter case, it can't be repaired, but over time the
symptoms should decrease or go away (likely several months to a year).

See if you can wrangle a quick upper GI and small bowel series out of your
doctor. You would want the radiologist to be paying attention to gastric
emptying and small bowel transit. I'd be curious to know what that shows.
