I had to quit drinking caffeine due to my GERD. Has anyone tried taking
caffeine pills, if so what were the results? I'm not sure if this would
cause the same effects as drinking coffee or sodas. All help is
appreciated.

Same effect as coffee. It's the caffiene, not the coffee.
