Author Prilosec vs. Nexium

What's the difference between Prilosec and Nexium in terms of
effectiveness. I'm on Prilosec now, but it doesn't help as
much as I want it to. So I'm thinking of asking my doctor for
some other PPI (Nexium, Prevacid, etc.), but I wanted to hear
some opinion first. I already had an endoscopy and biopsy and
the diagnosis was chronic esophagitis and chronic gastritis
and no hiatus hernia or Barrett's.

They all basically work by the same mechanism, but some may be more
effective than others, or even work after another has stopped working, or if
one stops working maybe none of them will work. Try another one, and see
what happens. BTW Nexium is the left side of the optical isomer for
prilosec :-) ...Pete
