| For the first time in, oh, I don't know how long, I actually got 6 hours
of sleep in a row - almost no coughing! For my heartburn, I did two
main things - Dr switched me from Lansoprazole 30mg to Nexium 40mg.
And, I started taking it a few hours before bedtime, rather than first
thing in the am, with my other meds.
I'm also more closely paying attention to what I'm eating, and when -
the 3 hours before bed rule seems to be working OK.
My heart med was changed too, and I stopped taking the corticosteroid
that was prescribed for post nasal drip - with regaining control of the
reflux, I no longer need it.
Haven't actually had reflux problems for days, but I agree with Howard
that it was likely LPR (darn UK doctors won't even look, or do any
diagnostics), there is probably healing damage that continues to make me
cough - but the cough is getting less.
I'll still get a followup at a US doctor in a couple weeks, to see if
whatever damage has been done to my larynx and vocal chords is healing well.
