lansoprazole causing reflux or coughing?
|
|
|
| Is coughing a possible side effect of Lansoprazole? With extended use
(over a year at 30mg 1/day) can it actually cause reflux?
Reason I ask is, I forgot to take it this morning, and didn't cough most
of the day. Took it when I got home, and I've been coughing all night.
So now I'm thinking I didn't forget my meds a while back when I started
coughing real bad.

Lansoprazole, doesn't stop reflux. There is no medication that stops reflux.

Ok, I knew that. Let me rephrase: Can lansoprazole dramatically and
somewhat suddenly lose it's ability to control reflux symptoms? I'm
still trying to figure out what is triggering this night cough; I am
pretty sure it's reflux but as I'm on 30mg of lansoprazole, sometimes
take Zantac at bedtime, which doesn't help, and take Maalox at the onset
of a cough (hard to tell if this is working or not), all without
appreciable success, I'm left wondering if it's reflux at all.
