Author Fundo Mike Back again, 7 days with Constant Heart Burn-Worried

Hello Fellow Members:

I am not sure if you guys remember me. I was the slow healer after
surgery that became very weak, like "Thistle" and it took a few months
to get my energy back. In fact just as I got my energy back, last week
I went to a Bar-B-que, and had several helpings of spicy meat and food.
I came up with a wickid case of heartburn. Had not had heartburn since
recovering from surgery. I have been taking over the over the counter
Ant-Acids and it only seems to slightly reduce it but I am still
burning down there. This is going on (6) days now and I guess I'm
worried that it was the straw that broke the camels back and somehow my
Fundo isnt working. A fellow fundo person believes that I'm still raw
down there from the initial heartbun attack and its going to take a few
weeks to heal up.

I was scoped and had a 24 PH test post fundo in June and July and
according to the GI doctor I looked great down there.

Any suggestions?

Mike

I'm glad you're feeling better, Mike, but I'm puzzled and distressed about
your recent symptoms. If a patient came to me with your current situation,
I'd recommend a repeat EGD to first visualize the lower esophagus and
determine whether or not there's erosive esophagitis, and to look at the
wrap and make sure it hasn't slipped or obviously loosened. If there is
esophagitis, then the wrap is not functioning appropriately. If there's not
esophagitis, I'd recommend repeat ambulatory pH testing.
