When there is bleeding from a trocar site that requires a stitch or two to
control, it's common for that muscle closure to be very painful. My partners
and I long ago quit using bladed trocars and exclusively use
direct-entry/conical tip for that very reason.
Usually, a painful lump at a trocar site is due to a little bleeding, and
that blood clot should resolve, along with the pain, in 3-5 weeks. If it
persists beyond that, one would have to be concerned about a hernia at that
location with a little entrapped pre-peritoneal fat.
As to your bowel function - your diet has changed a lot in this post-op
period, I suspect, so likewise your bowel habits will change too. Consider
adding some fiber to your diet - metamucil or citrucel. Don't fall into the
trap of the classic American preoccupation with The Daily Bowel Movement.
Forcing it with laxatives or hypertonics like MOM is likely to be an
unrewarding experience.
