Well I had the surgery. The Dr. found a "moderate" size hiatel hernia. He
said the gallbladder looked fine so he didn't remove it. My question now
is how easy is it to rip the stitches? I am coughing alot and I'm afraid
something might come undone...Sherri

Not very easy, but possible. Consider some kind of cough suppressant, such
as Robitussin DM or something with dextromethorphan. If the coughing is
really violent, your surgeon might want to consider something with codiene
to suppress the cough.
