STAMFORD, Conn., Aug. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Purdue Pharma L.P. of
Stamford, Connecticut and Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. of Chadds Ford,
Pennsylvania have agreed to end the patent infringement lawsuit
between them now pending in the United States District Court for the
Southern District of New York concerning certain Purdue Pharma patents
on OxyContin® (oxycodone HCl controlled- release) Tablets
("OxyContin"). According to the agreement, Endo will stop selling
infringing versions of OxyContin by the end of 2006. In exchange,
Purdue Pharma will not pursue damages against Endo for Endo's past
infringement of its OxyContin patents.

Under the terms of the settlement agreement, Endo will no longer
dispute that the Purdue Pharma OxyContin patents are valid,
enforceable and infringed by Endo's extended-release oxycodone
product. The parties also have agreed to propose to the Court a
consent judgment holding that Endo is infringing the Purdue patents
and prohibiting Endo from infringing sales after December 31, 2006

No problemo. I know how nice it is to get validation.

The Endo generic version really needed to be pulled off the market do
to ineffectiveness, but I'll settle for this reason. I sincerely
think there was something different in Endo's time release coating.

For those that are forced to get generic the Watson version is
produced by Purdue (I suspect just re-bottled). Although I have no
idea if Purdue will continue its marketing agreement with Watson now
that the Patent issues have been resolved.

Hi, I just read this on the internet; and was very happy and relieved
to see it. I am on MS Contin ER, generic, and was put on the generic
brand ENDO in July. My pain level went from a 2 to a 7. If you know
anything about pain management, you know that is a drastic change. My
family believes me, but not my doctor nor my pharmacist. But I know
that it is the change in the generic medicines. How did these people
get others to believe them? I have to do something and soon. My
activity level is going down, way down, and fast. I hate to say this,
but my life depends on this one medication....!!!!!! I take 900 mg.
time release / 3 x per day. Now do you understand how my whole body
depends on it. It took 5 years to work up to that strength though.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where I can begin, to get someone
to listen to me? I would really appreciate it. Also, if there are
any others that take this medicine or know someone who is, and that has
had or is having the same problems with Generic MS Contin, please email
me, personally, or this group, I will be watching for replies...Thank
You! Bless All
