| There have been some recent posts on TENS unit applications, and I would
like to state the following:
1. Never put TENS electrodes on your head or neck.
2. Never put TENS electrodes on your chest.
3. Never substitute small diameter tip or probe electrodes for the pad
electrodes that came with the unit. This completely changes the
characteristics of the electrical circuit as a result of changing the
contact area at the electrode/skin interface, therefore changing the
electrical impedance (or resistance) at this interface. IOW, the pads
are used for reasons other than the fact that they can be "stuck" on.
Their cross-sectional area is one factor which determines the electrical
characteristics of the circuit created.
If anyone would like the reasons behind these warnings, please post your
question(s).
