Anyone here ever taken Talwin NX? Have been on it for a couple of
months now, and am down to 3 in the bottle. My Dr is out of the office
till Monday. I have a full bottle of Darvocet N. Am I in for a bad
weekend or should the Darvocet hold me over???? Little worried here

I've been on it (years ago), and, though I remember getting a distinctive
buzz, I don't remember any heavy withdrawals. And it IS a drug that
doctors thought required little "tapering". But, as I recall, it was'nt a
good drug for chronic pain; I could start a week of use, and haf a tab at a
time was more than enough; after 3 weeks, three tablets would'nt relieve as
much pain. The Darvocet should hold you over. You should discuss your
medication schedule with him-if your pain is expected to last more than a
month or two, he should give you enough to hold you over-without having to
worry.

Legend is correct. Talwin NX is a cruddy drug, and is NOT intended for
chronic pain.
You need another choice, and IMUO, darvocet, while it has its own problems,
is a better med for chronic use, if it works for you.

Hope this tidbit is somewhat helpful,
Dave/

Thanks. Always glad to be of help. So, take your darvocet, and speak to
your doctor tomorrow, if there is any trouble.
