My mother was in Spain a few months ago, and when she returned, she
said she got bitten really badly out there by insects... It was her
first time leaving Ireland so she never really got any insect bites
like this before..

She still has the same bites, and they are still as itchy as ever this
is 5-6 months later..

She just called me this morning to tell me that she is after finding
some bruising on her thigh and legs..
These black bruises are similar to the size of a pinch or something...

The doctor she visited does not seem to know what to do, and he has
perscribed her some betnovate ( this is used for exzema treatement etc
alcohol based)

They took blood samples the other day, so she is still waiting for more
feedback...

Can anyone tell me what might be the problem here?

Has she been tested or empirically treated with doxycycline for possible
tick borne diseases?

There could be little bugs living under her skin.
