Author Cotton mattress covers for dust mites?

I've seen the polypropylene mattress and pillow zipper covers at Sears that
I'd like to use to block dust mites (and their feces).

However, I also saw some tightly woven cotton casings online.

Are these as effective as the polypropylene ones? Are they worth the extra
price?

Thanks.

According to reviews, they're as effective. If you want to go cheaper
but also want to be comfortable, buy the vinyl to encase your mattress
(and your boxspring, if any) then put a quilted, washable mattress pad
on top of it.

I bought soft, silky microfiber ones for my mattress and pillows,
cheaper than cotton, a lot more than plastic.
