Author HELP - rain + commercial HVAC = stuffy ears, other..

I've noticed this a number of times recently:

If I go in a commercial building - like a grocery store, or Walmart -
after it has just rained, my ears almost instantly get a full
sensation, and my eyes will feel "sore"... and sometimes afterwards I
get bad headaches, feel weird..

I'm presuming it's something that grows in AC systems. It's very
distinct, I just got back from Walmart it happened again - I'm not
imaging a "reaction"....

Right now I've got a bit of a headache, eyes are sore, ears better....

What is causing this???? I presume some sort of mold in air ducts,
but "???"

I notice when I go into K-mart or a mall of any kind that my eyes start to
burn, I grow tired and sometimes get a headache. I always attributed the
burning eye sensation to the fake light in those places. Something about
that light my eyes just can't tolerate. But not until recently after my
son's allergic reaction did I ever entertain the idea of mold or other
chemicals as being the culprit.

It seems like it doesn't happen during the winter; but when summer
comes around, A/C units are starting to be used - it happens.

I can't afford to go to an allergist, so I have no idea of a plan of
action....

Most commercial buildings (unless they have a night setback) are colder in the
mornings, until the crowds arrive.
Body heat and the doors opening and closing often warms things up a bit, so
it's as bothersome.
OTOH some units have thermostats that ramp up the cold, if they sense the heat
rising.
Overall though, it's usually not as uncomfortable (for temperature), the more
the crowds.
YMMV
If that doesn't work, try wearing something on your head (in stores), that's
where heat loss occurs.
