Have you ever heard of Sylvania Electronic Village (SEV)? When I
lived in Sylvania over 10 years ago, I was part of that internet
access group. They had a contract with Buckeye Express for internet
service at a discount. When I moved to Holland to take care of my
mom, after my dad died in 1997, SEV let me keep the same e-mail
address, even though I couldn't get the discount. In January, their
contract with Buckeye ended and SEV found another, better service
provider, so I lost the SEV address. Buckeye told me that newsgroups
were provided as part of SEV's contract. Apparently, non-SEV members
only get newsgroups with 5 mbs speed and above; I have 1.5 mbs. This
is not clear anywhere on their website. Also, their customer service
has gone way downhill. The techs I have talked with the last few
times don't have a clue what they are doing. For the price Buckeye
charges, the service sure does not match up. Are you aware that
Buckeye is owned by the Block boys, the same ones who own the Blade
and think they run Toledo? That alone makes me gag.
