Super Bowl - Anyone care?
|
|
|
| Other than Maureen, that is...anyone else even vaguely interested? We have
our usual football friends coming later today, but there's more interest in
the commercials and food than the actual game. But for Maureen's sake, Go
Bears!!

I absolutely LOVE football, so I am excited to watch it. I am pulling for
the Colts this year. Not much of a Bears fan and I really like Tony Dungy
and the owner of the Colts.
| |
|
| I don't care. BUT, we're making some "game" food and hanging out watching
it.
My daughter's BF is hob-nobbing (sp) with the Colt elite this weekend....
lucky dog. I could not care less about the game, but I think one of these
years he should invite ME to the Superbowl just so I can experience the
luxury boxes of the owners!!

| LOL!! Yeah, you know, I do not really care either My girls are going to
a friends to watch and Ray and I are staying home. I have a ton of homework
to do and this cold snap is really causing him a lot of back pain, so we are
just doint nothing. It sure would be nice if they did win, but I'm not
losing sleep over it either way.
Hope everyone enjoys their plans!!

| You know, I really prefer college football to high school, pro, or
arena. It helps to have someone to root for, which I don't.
So...if I have no one to root for, I don't care.

| How funny, Liz; I was thinking the same thing. Even if the game doesn't
hold my interest, I know I'll enjoy the commercials! <G> I'm not a
major football fan anyway, but I'll watch it. We have to choose which
party to go to first, though!

fans, so we use the occasion to celebrate the start of baseball

| <snicker> I was watching that for a bit with my oldest, but then I grew
bored with the kittie half time show - it was cute, but I guess I am just
use to more aggressive kittie behavior - and she changed the channel on me
when I kept saying how much fun it would be if they just introduced one of
those sweet puppies to the mix ;)

At least I'll be able to watch them both at the same time.

I don't either, Gisele! I forgot it was today. Watched a simply
TERRIBLE movie - "Broken Flowers" with Bill Murray, which was in no
way, shape, or form funny. Very weird movie. Called my mom to see what
they were doing and they were watching the game. I'm going, Game?

| It's been impossible not to know almost everything about the Super Bowl
here. That's all that has been on local news for the last month. I am so
sick of it and I couldn't care less. I would have been happy if Rutgers
made the Orange Bowl, but only because my daughter is a dean there and a
graduate. They lost the critical game to get them there by 1 point in the
3rd overtime, and with a very questionable call denying them a
touchdown--which would have given them the win. My daughter would have come
down and we would have gone to the Orange Bowl--but..... Not to be. Had to
drop her and her friend off at the Port in Fort Lauderdale today as they are
off on a cruise for a week! I was afraid traffic might be bad, but we went
early and back roads, so no problem. When she made the reservations she was
planning on going out of the Port of Miami, but thank goodness she changed
to Fort Lauderdale. I would not have wanted to go to downtown Miami today!

I haven't seen Broken Flowers, I sorta had it on my list. Jim Jarmusch
is not to everybody's taste. I think my favorite Bill Murray movie is
Groundhog Day, I could sit down and watch that any time.

He's not everybody's cup of tea, but it's hard to deny that he's a musical
genius.
I'm not much of a sports fan at all, but I do watch the Super Bowl just
because of all the emotion and passion that's involved.
I am a big fan of passion.

| I had to work. But I had it on so I could check on it occasionally,
and watch the commercials (instead of working during commercials and
watching a show, like I usually do). I wanted the Bears to win, I
guess just because I am an old Mike Ditka fan and not interested in
the Colts.
I watched a lot more football before I became an MT. I've got to
figure out some kind of schedule for next year so I can get back to
watching it again, I've missed it more than I realized.

| We went to our sons and had a good time. Several people came and it was
great. Got to see some kids we haven't seen since he was in college so that
was great. Glad it was raining they always claim they only want to have the
game where it is sunny and nice so poop on them -- they could have had it
here and had better weather! I wanted the colts to win because I wanted
Tony Dungey to get the win but I like both coaches a lot. We have more
husky players on the Bear team, however. It was just fun being with the
kids. Would have rather seen the Seahawks, however!

| My husband suggested we watch 'Groundhog's Day' this past Friday. I
suggested he's watched it once too often. He has lots of movies that he
has watched many times. For this one, I'm not sure if he likes Bill
Murray or Andie McDowell <G>.

| Billy Joel is and always will be one of my favorite musicians. I've seen
him on stage five times and will seem him again when he returns to Philly.
However, that said, I did not care for his rendition of our Star Spangled
Banner. I'm not at all familiar with Prince's music but thought he was
quite good. My nephew and his father (our ex-brother-in-law) were at the
game, and my nephew's only reason for travelling down to Miami was to see
Prince!
But how 'bout those commercials? Didn't you just love the one with the two
mechanics and the candy bar? (I always forget who the advertiser is once
the commercial is over...I'll bet the sponsors just love people like me!)
