| I started thinking this morning of past Memorial Day traditions. The
weekend before, the family would drive up to Vermont to place flowers on the
graves of my father's relatives.
However, Memorial Day Sunday was set aside for Mum's relatives. We would
drive to Northborough, MA, where the majority of them are buried and walk
around the cemetery finding the stones of all the family members of which
there are many: Wheeler, Roberts, Maroni, O'Brien, Maxwell, and now Leonard
to name just a few.
After flowers were placed reverently on these graves, we would meet with
other family members who were there observing this quiet remembrance of
loved ones.
