Anybody use WP 12?

| If so, I have a spelling correction question that maybe you know the answer
to. I've been using WP8 until recently when 12 came with my new computer and
it's flagging words that shouldn't be flagged and I can't find any setting
that would cause it to do this. And I mean words like extremely, instead,
just common words that it's underlining.

| Never mind and sorry for wasting someone's reading time. I found it at
Corel's web site once I used some different search terms. But if anybody
else has this problem, I know the solution now. LOL

| By the way, since I mentioned my new computer, I have got to brag on it.
First, I ordered my fourth Dell on Saturday the 14th. I ordered a Dimension
3100 (the offer was free flat panel 17' and free shipping) 2.8 ghz, 80 gb
HD, 52X CD-RW-DVD-RW, 512 RAM, WP Productivity Pack. They shipped it on
Monday the 16th, it was at my door on Wednesday the 18th. I unhooked the old
one, took it to the bedroom where I have one unused network cable for
emergencies, hooked it up, unpackaged and hooked this one up at my desk.
Booted both of them up, and I was up and running and back at work in I guess
three hours. And I am thrilled with this computer. Of course, I've been
thrilled with all my Dells. This is my third Dell Dimension and I have the
Dell Inspiron laptop. I have had an off-brand IBM clone (my first net
computer) and then I had a Compaq laptop which died after two years...and I
will never go back from Dells again. I haven't had anything but for seven
years now and I don't foresee changing unless they go belly up.

| My new computer at the office is doing the same thing, so please post
the solution. I haven't had time to check at Corel's site yet.

| WARNING: Be aware that following the recommended steps will result in the
loss of your Quick Correct entries and any words which have been added to
your custom dictionary.
1.. Right click on my computer and choose explore.
2.. From the menu bar select view & then folder options.
3.. From the folder options dialogue, place a check mark in " show hidden
files and folders "
4.. Remove the check mark from " hide extensions for known file types" &
click apply.
5.. Go to the My Documents folder and open it. Locate and open the Corel
User files folder.
6.. Look for the file WTXXUS.UWL. The XX indicates the version of
WordPerfect e.g If WordPerfect 12, this would be WT12US.UWL.
7.. Right click on the file once located and choose rename. Give the file
a name WT12US.OLD and save.
The next time that WordPerfect is opened , a new default User Word List will
be generated. If this does not do anything to resolve your problem, ensure
that your default writing tools language is set to the language used to
compose your document ( which is usually U.S. English ). To do this, follow
the instructions below:
1. Go up to and go down to Language, select Settings from within the
submenu.
2. Ensure that your current language matches the language in your
document.
3. Click on Ok.

| Thanks. Unless someone finds a way to save the quick correct file, I'll
just put up with it for now. I'm not that enthused about replacing
several hundred entries by hand.

| As far as I am concerned, every upgrade of WP has meant more problems and
deterioration of previous features. I am not upgrading again. I will give
up and learn Word, and just use WP for line counting!

| Well, it didn't work anyway. I am going to post a followup to that forum
thread and see what other options they have.

| Here's another option from that same question:
This is known to happen if the option to "Correct other mistyped words when
possible" is selected in the QuickCorrect options.
This issue has been addressed with WordPerfect Office 11 Service Pack 1.
Please refer to article 753552: What Service Packs are available for
WordPerfect® Office 11? to find the latest service pack for WordPerfect
Office 11.
Dani (who just ran an update and put service pack one from Corel on it and
it didn't work either). So I guess I just uncheck replace other words as I
type. Darnit.

| Yep, unchecking the correct other mis-spelled words as you type did it. How
dumb.
