"The patient's husband had a tubal ligation, and this is her last
child." I guess this could accurately be used to describe a vasectomy,
but I've never heard it said that way. Struck me as funny, in any case!

Can you be sure it wasn't her tubal he meant. People have been pregnant
at the time of the TL?

I guess I can't be completely sure, but he did say "the patient's
husband", and there is nothing in the H&P to indicate this was a
surprise pregnancy, so my suspicion is that it really was her husband
who had the "tubal ligation". I hadn't thought of that, though; thanks!

Okay, but has anyone had an infertility doc refer to a man as a G0?

Now that is funny.

Here's another one -- "The patient had a toectomy."

Everybody fell to the floor laughing, but our boss later said
"toectomy" or toe surgery, is acceptable. ????? hmmm

This isn't recent, but reminded me of one a FP I used to work for did
occasionally. Would dicate that the patient's finger was buddytaped to
the adjacent toe. I always got this funny visual of the poor patient
doubled over with a finger taped to their toe.
