94.6? Hey, that gives me some wiggle room to pick up some new, bad
habits!

| Oh dear, it says I will live to be 105, I don't think I can afford
that, especially since George II says SS will be bankrupt in 13 years!

| Have you compared it with the one at realage.com?

I'm around until age 84.1, which is the age Mum died. Sounds about
right.

| I hate that test.
It took two years off my previous life: 66.6 years
(pause)
Hmmm ... 666

| It warns me about several things, in particular my weight, but says my
expectancy is 94.5. I'm not sure I want to live that long, so where is the
incentive to get my weight to where I would like it to be?
It also didn't ask what I feel are very important questions. For instance I
have had a hysterectomy due to endometrial cancer. I would think that type
of history would be an important factor?

| Warned me about my obesity and says I'll live to 102.5. No damn thank you.
Think I'll start drinking and smoking. No way do I want to live that long!!

Su, could that test be telling us all something? (Twilight Zone theme in

| 73.3 years. That's about what I always figured. Well, around the national
average anyway. I'm about as average as they come I guess.

If you have to ask, you don't know me too well, do you? :}

| Well, you can always wait and pick up some bad habits later on if you
start to feel that you've been around too long, but you might want to
confine them to things like skydiving, motorcycle racing and glacier
climbing just so that you don't foreclose your options to far in
advance. My own hope is to live to about 105 and be shot by a jealous
husband.

| Well I retook it and got it down to 95.4 but I'm trying to add more bad
stuff to the diet. I'm already overweight and don't exercise but my dang
blood pressure is perfect, cholesterol is normal, blood sugar is normal and
that blows everything. No family history of cancer (except my nephew and
that's BIL side of the family that has cancer). Longevity of parents and
family. Dang, Norwegian blood, I guess.

That's probably why I lost points ... both of my parents (have/had) cancer.
My mother was diagnosed 30 years (ovarianu) but it looks she's cured. My
father has prostate cancer and is still undergoing treatment. So, that gives
me about an 85% chance of getting cancer.
If it happens, it happens. I'm not going to worry about it.

ooohhhh..How I love skydiving. I haven't been in a good while since I
would have to buy a separate rider for my life insurance and it won't pay
out if I die skydiving. I wouldn't want to leave my DH and son in a lurch,
so I haven't returned to skydiving. Boy do I miss it.

| I'm going to live to 84.8? I need to put live in a hut and put all my
earnings in a mutual fund then. At the rate my Roth IRA is (or isn't)
growing I'm going to be living in a dumpster.

| But that is one of the reasons why I think this is baloney. My blood
pressure is perfect, too, but I have been taking B/P medication since I was
in my late 20s, and contrary to what everyone says is true--I was not
overweight at the time it was way above normal (ever since I became pregnant
the first time), and the two times I have gotten my weight down to
recommended levels it did not lower my B/P. Certainly someone who has been
taking medication to control blood pressure for about 45 years is not in the
same category for longevity as someone who has never had to take such
medication. I have always been very conscientious about keeping my B/P
normal, but have had to do so with drugs.
I think the whole test is bunk.

| Mine is 83.4. Since I'm 67 next month, and my pulmonary fibrosis only
gives five to six years from diagnosis, I need a miracle to reach 83.

| My husband is a Swede and his mother just died just two months shy of
being 96. Most of his aunts and uncles were in their 90s also. Those
Scandinavians live long , long lives.
