Okay, here's the deal. I am typing a court hearing that was recorded on
FTR Gold.

I have a foot pedal installed on my computer in a USB port.

Whenever I start up the FTR Gold WITH the foot pedal installed in the
USB port, the FTR Gold program crashes. Every time.

So I have converted the 4 channel FTR Gold file into a 2 channel Windows
Media File for playback in Express Scribe as Express Scribe won't read
FTR Gold files.

No problems. I have been typing the job and am up to about minute
203:00 of 338:00 on the Windows Media File in Express Scribe.

Now, when I stop and then start the file using the foot pedal, the job
starts back at the beginning of the file.

As long as I DON'T stop the file at minute 203:00, it will continue with
the file from minute 203:00. The second I stop the file, anywhere along
the line, the damned thing restarts from the beginning.

What gives?

I have already reformatted the file once and have reloaded it into
Express Scribe thinking it was just a bum reformat in the beginning.
But I am getting the same problems.

Anyone have this experience?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Even an outlet to another transcription program that would read FTR Gold
files without having to reformat them into a Windows Media File would be
nice.

My footpedal is the standard, I geuss, foot pedal from ECS Inc.

TIA

Aaron
