| Newspapers can be even worse. Our local paper (Walla Walla
Union-Bulletin) has a real reputation for goofs in both headlines and
stories. Last fall, they had a full page story on electric car racing
which was so bad that I sat down and proofed it. Found a total of 87
errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar and usage. This is the same
newspaper that earned its fame back in the 60's when it announced a
public open house at Foreman Hall, a new girl's dorm at the college,
with the headline "Women's Dorm to Have Pubic Showing."
