Hey, Dani! How was King Kong?

| I love New York, big scary monsters, and dinosaurs, and it has all 3. Is it
worth the effort?

| My son saw KK. He said the first 1/2 was boring and too long, the second 1/2
was good.

| Well, you don't even see Kong for the first hour, but I thought it had a
good buildup to his appearance, a really good story. It is 3 hours and 7
minutes long, but if you don't mind the long I think it was well worth it. I
give it two thumbs up.

Thanks, Dani. Sounds like I should just go in late.
I know the story and liked the 1970s version, so I could probably catch up
if I showed up an hour in. I'm more into the big critters and skyscrapers
than the story line, and I don't think the special effects would be so great
on the small screen.

| That's why we went, because of seeing the special effects on the big screen.
Well, it was almost exactly an hour into it when the natives tie her up for
sacrifice and Kong comes and gets her, so you wouldn't miss the dinos or
Kong if you went in that late because the dinos come in a few minutes later
as the rescue party is trying to find her. And of course there is a good
5-10 minute King Kong versus Godzilla scene LOL
Dani (P.S. while we were in King Kong, DD and friend saw Wolf Creek and said
it sucked for anyone interested-- LOL)

Yeah, my friend saw "Wolf Creek" and hated it, too. There's something much,
much worse (gore-wise) coming out soon, it looks like. Quentin Tarantino's
"Hostel" looks quite horrific.
Maybe I'll show up about 45 minutes in just to make sure I don't miss the
dinos. The only thing I like better than skyscrapers is DINOSAURS! If they
ever create a genuine Jurassic Park I'm selling all my worldly goods to go
there.

| Well, I don't think you'll be disappointed. They did an awesome job on Kong
and on the dinos, insects, lizards, etc.
Now we saw a preview for the Da Vinci Code and Tom Hanks looks so awesome
with his hair down to his shoulders (of course his son Collin is in King
Kong with Jack Black--what a pair) and I hope it's as good as the book.
Then we saw a preview for a new horror movie (my favorites) where the dead
live in your computer and want out--sounds corny, but looks cool, can't
remember the name of it but it's one word.
I like the Xmen movies and a new one's coming out on that one--looks great.
I like the previews almost as much as the movie.
