Hi,
Does anybody transcribe EMG reports, and, if so, could you email a copy of
one to me. I am going to be transcribing these again soon, and I can't find
my examples. It has been sometime since I have transcribed these, and I
would like to brush up.

Thanks,
Laura

I suspect it might violate HIPAA to do that, but I can recommend that
you get the HPI neurology book, because they have a whole section on EMG
phrases. Or else ask the people you are doing the work for for samples,
which would be even more helpful.

You could always take identifying info out to keep from angering the
HIPAA gods, but I don't really have the time to do that myself - and I
also think the last time I did an EMG they used a hand-crank machine.

I have done EMG reports for various offices, and while the style always
varies in the report itself, the contents are pretty much the same. You
can google on EMG, EMG report, EMG findings, EMG and nerve conduction
study, etc. and find all sort of refreshers for you.

Here's a good site for all the nerves, etc.

Melinda, I thought that somebody might have a sample of an EMG report, not a
"real" one. I had a sample, but it has been some time ago, and I can't find
it.

Are you in a hurry for these? If not, I can get samples to you on Monday.
I'm up to my ears in Santa related stuff right now.

Thanks Liz. That would be great. I am going to be transcribing a neurology
account, which I have done before, but have not had to transcribe the EMGs
since I left the hospital many moons ago.

Happy to help, Laura. I helped out a friend last year on EMG reports - she
sent me some samples which I'm sure I still have.
