Author auto numbered list without indent?

How do I set up Word so that it will do automatically numbered lists but
won't indent the numbered items?

I need everything under "Assesment" to be aligned to the left margin, and
Word insists on indenting.

Click on Format, Bullets and Numbering.

Pick the style you want (I like the first one) and click on Customize.

Start at 1". Align at 0". Indent the way you want (0.35 is the default
setting).

Click OK.

Maybe you could set it up as a keyboard macro. Mine is Alt-M, but you choose
something easy to remember and wont' conflict with the default Word settings
(i.e. Alt-F is File). This way you won't have to keep resetting things over
and over again.

With your cursor still in the first line, press Alt + Shift + left arrow
to demote the list to the left margin (right arrow will increase the
indent). Or reassign the shortcut for the OutlinePromote command in
Tools/Customize/Keyboard.

You could also record a macro and assign a hot key:

1. Type #1 and any text you want to, then press Enter.
2. Immediately after #2 appears in your list, start the macro recorder,
press Ctrl + Shift + Up arrow, then press Alt + Shift + left arrow and
your list will demote to the left margin.
3. Press the down arrow key and your cursor is in place for the second
line of text.
4. Stop recording.

When typing lists, run the macro when you get to #2.

Open Word
Alt + O - Format
N - number
Click number tab
Boxes listed as None, 1.2.3., etc.
Click on 1. 2. 3.
Click on Customize in the lower right corner.
“Aligned at…. Put “0” (note how the lines on the sample picture
change)
Change the Tab space and Indent Space to where you want them (I have
them at 0.3) Look at the picture sample.
Click ok

1. For every list within the document you have to do this. You might
want to use Autotext (since this holds formatting).

You caught my attention here. How would you do something like this for
Autotext? (I'm a real newbie when it comes to Word). I'm only familiar with
highlighting text and saving it.

Let me see ... glancing up, greyer; crossing eyes, more wrinkles; looking
south, let's skip over that part.

Aside from that, pretty good.
