| An account I have had for many years as an IC is changing the way
transcription is done, i.e. dialing into their system, using their
programs and equipment, no pick up and delivery, no printed reports. I
suspect this may be getting into employee status.
I would appreciate input from anyone who has experienced the same and
how you dealt with it.
Thanks.

Why would you think this would be employee status versus IC status. Did
they change your rate of pay by telling you what they will pay you? Are
they going to make you work a set schedule or just within the already
agreed-upon turnaround time. Are they forcing you to buy their equipment
and programs?

| Haven't and the one time it was tried to be pushed on me I refused to be
an employee. It was an office that was under the hospital and that's the
way the hospital was doing it. When I documented to their satisfaction I
was really an IC, they backed down. I felt it would have made a mess of
my taxes with office deductions if I was trying to be employee for some
and IC for others.
