Money versus Quicken

| Which do you prefer?
Is the most current version the best or will an older version do?
Standard, deluxe, pro?
I've been keeping a check register of sorts in Excel but I think I'd
like to actually use a real program. I don't care about downloading
from my bank. I check my account online daily but it, of course,
doesn't show outstanding checks. I just want to keep something for
myself where I can tell how much money is really available after all
debits and checks are taken out. A budgeting feature would be nice
too.
Thanks!
When they discover the center of the universe,
a lot of people will be disappointed to discover they are not it.

| I prefer Money over Quicken. I use Quicken, Money and Quickbooks and
prefer Money over anything else for personal use. Money is a bit more
"bulky" than Quicken but it gets the job done, IMO.

| I use Quicken. Have had no experience with Money. There are different
versions for Quicken and I am using the Home and Business version. I do not
keep two checking accounts (have enough trouble keeping one straight). It
depends how old the "older version" is. They stop supporting after a period
of time. I was forced to upgrade a year ago. I had a relatively minor
problem and they refused to answer it--just told me to upgrade. Since I was
perfectly happy with the version I was using it p.....ed me off! But, I
like the program. And there were some improvements that made it worth the
upgrade, but it still made me angry.

| Don't know about Money, but Quicken is pretty wimpy compared to
Quickbooks, IMO.
