If you get the unglazed - I think that is the term - it's not the shiny tile,
but the matte finish - it is A LOT less slippery than the shiny version of
ceramic tile. It doesn't look as nice and I sometimes really wish mine would
be shiny but we don't slip when we come in through the back door with wet feet!

I have various kitchen rugs placed around my counters - especially directly
underneath the cabinets that we use most often. If I drop a coffee cup, it
will usually bounce there first and not break.

BTW - our next house will have the six burner stove, double ovens and the
warming bin.
