Truly gives you faith in the system, doesn't it? Let's see, there's no
problem if you didn't get your absentee ballot in FL, because you can just
go to the polls and vote early, and the fact you got turned away at the
polls was just a laptop glitch, not a voting glitch, so what's your beef???

Here in Georgia the wait at some of the early voting places is 3-4 hours! We
passed by one of the FOUR in our county about 4:45 this afternoon and the line
appeared to be a 2- 2 1/2 hour wait. I had considered voting early but with
that kind of wait think I'll just go on Tuesday. Maybe a big part of the
people will have already gone.

No problems here in Texas E-voting, other than the long wait in line for
early voting. Marina and I waited in line for 65 minutes last night to
vote. Plenty of computers to vote on, but not enough people to do voter
registration verification.

That was the problem here in Miami-Dade. We only waited about 15 minutes
but if there had been a long line there was only one table with two
computer checking registration. There were plenty of voting computers, but
only 2 or 3 were being used at a time. As far as I could see on my end
everything went okay and neither my husband or I had problems with the
machine. What happens after the button gets pushed, who knows.

Anyone see 60 Minutes tonight? Talking about how the election sofware is all so
hush-hush secret that it can't even be evaluated except by chosen few. Then
some company accidentally posted theirs on the web for a short time and it was
accessed by a group who found the security to be so old as to be pathetic.

I voted today in Las Vegas, Nevada, and it was so smooth and quick. I thought
it would take forever, there were probably 25-40 people in front of me, and a
steady stream of cars coming into the parking lot. I was in and out in less
than 20 minutes. 4 registration checkers, on laptops, 25 voting machines, each
with a paper trail, and a well trained staff at the polls. They said that the
lines stay about the same length all day and have since the early voting
started, but no glitches and no complaints. They also have a very nice
feature - they take handicapped individuals out of the line and put them at the
front so they do not have to stand for any period of time.

To be completely honest, who knows what happens once you drop that paper ballot
in the box.
