| My daughter asks - What are the black things on football referees' hands? They
go around the wrist and the finger.
Of course I haven't the foggiest. I DO know what the football looks like, but
that's the end of my sports knowledge.

| You've heard, of course, about tying a string around your finger to
remind you of something? That's what this is. It's an elastic band that
they move from one finger to another to keep track of which down it is.
Not a football person, but I got that from my wife, who eats, drinks,
sleeps and lives for football.

Well, at least if someone on SMT doesn't know, they know someone who does - no
matter what the topic.

And she says thank you.

Wow, a football husband.
Does she eat nachos and pretend to listen to you when she's watching a
game?
I'm not much into watching pro sports either, but I usually watch the World
Series games, the basketball finals and the Super Bowl, just because of all
the emotion and passion involved.
My wife isn't into pro sports much either. She does like to watch the NBA
all-star game with me, because she's from Michigan and I root for the
West .

We eat, drink, and breathe football in this house. In fact, our Sundays are
planned around whether the Eagles games are on at 1:00 or at 4:30. DH is
also totally into baseball, basketball (pro and college), and ice hockey
(but not this year, gratefully!), but I'm basically a one sports person
until March Madness rolls around. And Eliyahu, DH agrees with your wife re
those black bands on the refs' hands. I never noticed myself!

Geez, and I used to think it was joke when they said most jocks were too
dumb to count past 10 without taking their shoes off. <gggggggggggg>

I've learned that it's a good idea to agree with her. She usually wins
her fantasy league and her football pool despite being the only woman in
either, and has been a fan since she was a kid. When we got married, she
had season tickets to the Chargers.

| We are pretty sports fanatics around here too. Mostly football college and
pro. Also Nascar. DH used to work on pit crews in the 70s and 80s with
Allisons, Cope, Petty etc. So it's fun to get his perspective on it. I
personally love football and could watch it all day long.
