| I keep hearing how there have been myriad breakthroughs and treatments from
adult stem cells and how there have been failures in embryonic stem cells.
My question is about what kind of resources have been put into these. As I
understand it, adult stem cells have been studied and used in medicine since
the first bone marrow transplant in the '60s while embryonic stem cell
research is less than 10 years old. If I have my facts straight then
obviously there are more treatments as a result of 30+ more years of
research on adult stem cells.
Does anyone have any facts, with references, on the amount of time and
funding going into these two areas of study?
