| FYI to canker sore sufferers.
I have always suffered from cankers sores. I've tried all the typical
ointments and solutions. Tried specialty toothpastes. Nothing worked
to stop it or make the sores heal faster. Basically the sores healed
at their own scheduled and made life miserable since I love to eat. I
have noticed canker sores are more prevalent during high stress time.
Anyway I suffered until...I quit eating chips (especially doritos). I
have not had an outbreak since I quit chips. In a strange way it makes
sense because chips have very sharp edges that nicks the inside of your
mouth. Since I'm prone to mouth inflammations, the nicks develop into
sores. I still get inflammations now and then but they never develop
into cankers sores. This makes a huge difference. So if you tried
everything and it hasn't worked, just try not eating chips. It
definitely worked for me and cost me nothing except the joy of eating
chips. But some sacrifice are worth it.

| I have not had a single aphthous ulcer since I started using Colgate Total
exclusively . My theory is that the triclosan (an antibacterial) prevents
the bacterial infiltrate in the traumatic ulcers, thus reducing the
likelihood of the traumatic ulcer developing into a "canker sore".
