Hey Marty,
This is a coincidence. I studied medical technology. I am a registered
medical technologist. I worked in the field for about 7 years and then
left to work for a medical device company. Have your sister's friend
log on here... I would love to hear why she chose medical technology
and what her career expectations are!!!

Do I wish I knew about this site when I was in dental hygiene school.
I never understood what they meant because the book was too confusing.
But you said it very clearly. Thank you. I am e-mailing this to my
sister's friend who has just started medical technology.

Sphenoid .....


DEF. Butterfly-shaped bone at the base of the skull

ALSO, scroll down for the Gray's Anatomy reproduction that shows the
"Semilunar Ganglion" or "Gasserian Ganglion."

Sure, you are looking at the sphenoid bone and the oval structures are
foramen ovale. It is the foramen for CN V3 ......... The third branch
of the Fifth Cranial Nerve.

Hi Sue,

You mentioned foramen ovale. Dentists know, or should know this well.
The trigeminal nerve exits the cranium through "foramen ovale." From
there, on to the Gasserian ganglion, etc.
