Author Q: Medical users of cannabis

I have severe epilepsy. I have bever been able to control the amount of
seizures but with cannabis I have been able to make them less painful. I
have petit' mauls several times a day and full grand mauls multiple times
weekly. I count on cannabis because the amount of narcotics I receive for
the pain really makes life miserable.

I am looking to show how others like myself use cannabis instead of drugs
prescribed by doctors to help deal with illness's.
Be they Aids or Cancer, MS and many many more.

I hope this makes sense.

Peace

Michael

Michael, I've known 2 epileptics, one had gand mal, the other
psychomotor . . . . and I've never heard them say anything about pain
(unless they fall and hit the floor or something). Please let me know
about your pain(s). Thanks.

I have a lot of pain when going thru the contractions of a grand mal. I
never have an arua(?) so I never have time to react and lay down or get
somewhere safe.

The journal PHARMACOLOGICAL REVIEWS reports that decades of research prove that, "Compared with legal drugs...marijuana does not pose greater risks." Yet based upon mortality statistics, we can safely con- clude that cannabis is one of the safest medical drugs known, for, while prescription drugs, defined as safe by the FDA, kill up to 27,000 and aspirin up to 1,000 Americans per year, cannabis kills 0 per year .

Hi Michael, Have you had a CAT or MRI scan - to find out if there's an
area in the brain that's (perhaps) causing the sesures? My 2 friends
seemed to have had pre-sesure Auras, and the sesures would only last a
short while. Sorry to hear yours are painful, but using afterwards (or
before?) Medical MJ tends to help, I've read.

I'm not sure where to go from here dear, I am very aware of the medicinal
help that cannabis has for me but I was looking for others that have had
luck in using cannabis to help eliminate drugs they are taking for illnesses
other than epilepsy.

Thank you for your reply.

Anybody else???

Peace

Michael

If you're refering to blood pressure, then aspirin is known to thin the
blood - hence the "doctors" recomendation. I don't think MJ does that
per se. Most people (If not all) who have seizures have some damage to
the brain or a blockage in a vein/artery there that causes it, so
thinning the blood would certainly help just like people who have had
strokes.

Hi Michael, I was using (for 2 yrs.) Lumigen drops (nightly) for my
"pre"? glaucoma, Dr said it'd be OK to stop (after he looked at my tests
results) and use MMJ, instead! I have also used generic Valium
(diazepam) on & off for anxiety/depression & insomnia, but the MMJ seems
to help - a bit with this, too! Comments, anyone? Oh! It's also good for
toothaches (pain) = tends to numb you!

Because he's an epileptic who's been successfully avoiding dozens of
seizures a day for many years through the use of cannabis... and he's
successfully fought the Canadian government on the issue.
