Tumour reduction can be caused by all sorts of things. A tumour is a
complex organ, the end result of multiple mutations. The fact that a
chemical causes tumour to shrink just means it affects the mature
tumour tissue in a particular way. It has no bearing on whether it
protects against the mutations occurring.

Describing it in that way is disingenuous. Whether cannabis should be
illegal does not depend on the fact you can describe it by the
innocuous-sounding phrase "lighting plants on fire and inhaling the
ensuing smoke", it depends on whether it harms other people.
