| My county has a personal property tax (car tax). Now I don't have a
problem with that per se, but there's some real annoying parts about it.
For my car, I owe $47. To prove that I paid the tax, I have to put a
county decal on my windshield. Still no complaints on my part, that's
just an easy way to enforce the law. Here's where the bullshit comes
in: they tacked on a $25 "decal fee" onto the tax bill. $25 for a
XXXXing sticker? What the XXXX?!?
So I have to pay the tax, then I have to pay half of the tax again just
to avoid getting fined for not paying the tax (even if I did, in fact,
pay) Am I the only one who sees this as complete and utter bullshit? I
wouldn't mind as much if the original tax bill were $72 right upfront.
At least then they wouldn't be trying to hide the true cost.
