They must think Live 8 is all about them.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY reportedly only agreed to perform at the Live 8
concert in London on Saturday (02JUL05) after organisers agreed to let
him open and close the charity extravaganza.

<snip>

BONO was determined to get his fair share of the limelight, and will
be allowed to share the stage with McCartney to duet on the opening
track. Both stars will wear the military suits the Beatles wore on the
Sergeant Pepper album cover.

<snip>

"Some of the more fragile egos are upset. Bono, in particular, was
quick to demand a share of the opening number and sees what he was
done politically over the years as a bit more relevant to Live 8 than
what Paul has to offer.

In other news, I noticed:

Ringo Starr refuses to tour with McCartney

Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has reportedly said he will never team up
with former bandmate Sir Paul McCartney again on tour.

"I haven't toured with Paul since 1966. We're never going to do it. We
are not going to tour together. I go with my band, he goes with his,"
Starr said on the American television show, Access Hollywood.

<end>

based on the quote, it doesn't sound to me like he refuses to - it
sounds like he's simply acknowledging the reality that they're not
gonna do it.

I caught Ringo on one of the late nite shows and he has a good band -
or maybe I was just drunk when I saw it.

But for Paul McCartney, excuse me, Sir Paul McCartney, I wouldn't pay
more than $20 to see him and that's only if he were playing locally
and I liked the venue he was playing (which I wouldn't because he
would play some Clear Channel behemoth venue).

He says "Woooohooooo!" way too much for someone his age.

Almost forgot - Motley Crue and Neil Young

Last week I heard Motley Crue was upset because they wanted to play
Live 8 but were told there was no room on the bill, but then tonite I
heard Neil Young has been added.

I'm pretty sure those others are. Ya know like Elton John.
Ever hear 'em speak?? Sounds like they're from Harvard or
somewhere around there. You'ld think that they were raised
in England. Well at least they're not French.
